William Louis Petersen is an American actor and producer. He is best known for his role as Gil Grissom in the CBS CSI drama: Crime Scene Investigation, for which he won the Screen Actors Association Award and was nominated for the Golden Globe Award; He is also nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards as producer of the show. He has also appeared in the films To Live and Die in L.A, Manhunter, Young Guns II, Fear, The Contender, Detachment and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.
