He was born Llandel Malavé and is one half of the Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel, together with Juan Luis Morera Luna, AKA Wisin. The group's debut album, Los Reyes del Nuevo Milenio, was released in 2000.

Llandel Veguilla Malavé, better known by his phonetic stage name Yandel Llandel, is a Puerto Rican singer and record producer who emerged on the music scene in 1995. He is best known as a member of the reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel. He released his first solo album, Quien Contra Mí, in September 2003. His second solo studio album, De Líder a Leyenda, released in November 2013, was Gold certified by the RIAA in 2014 .
