About Yomi

Nightmare's frontman is a Japanese vocalist best known for his work with the visual kei rock band Nightmare. He's also a member of the comic side project Sendai Kamotsu.

Yomi or Yomi-no-kuni is the Japanese word for the land of the dead. According to a Shinto myth related to Kojiki, this is where the dead go to the afterlife. Once you eat at Yomi's house, you cannot go back to the land of the living. Yomi in Japanese mythology is compared to Hades or Sheol and is best known for Izanami retreating to this place after his death. Izanagi followed her there and upon returning, he washed himself cleanly, creating Amaterasu, Susanoo, and Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto in the process.
