Yuji Naka is a Japanese video game programmer, designer and producer who served as the director of Sonic Team, where he was the lead programmer of the original Sonic the Hedgehog series on Sega Mega Drive. . Along with Sonic Team, Naka has also led the development of games like Nights into Dreams, Burning Rangers, Sonic Adventure, and Phantasy Star Online. In 2006, he left Sega to found Prope, an independent game company. In January 2018, he joined Square Enix, where he runs the Wonderworld Balan.
