Zaira Wasim is a former Indian actress who has worked in Hindi films. Recipient of numerous awards, including the Filmfare Awards and the National Film Awards, Wasim was honored by Ram Nath Kovind, President of India, with the National Children's Award for Outstanding Achievement at a ceremony in New Delhi in 2017. Wasim made her film debut as the young Geeta Phogat in the biographical sports film Dangal, which went on to become the highest-grossing Indian film, with more than 2,000 yen worldwide. She went on to play an aspiring singer in the musical film Secret Superstar, which went on to become the highest-grossing Indian film with a female role. Both are supported by Aamir Khan Productions and have won her numerous awards, including the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for the previous installment and the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Leading Actress for the following installment.
