Alberto Gilardino is an Italian professional football coach and former player who previously played as a striker. He is currently the head coach of Serie D club Siena. An excellent scorer, early in Gilardino's career he was compared to Filippo Inzaghi due to his luck, a sense of position and a keen sense of purpose. Gilardino currently holds the record for the 10th youngest player to score 100 Serie A goals, a feat he achieved at 26 years and 105 days. With 188 Serie A goals, Gilardino is currently among the top 10 all-time scorers in Serie A history. His scoring goal celebration saw him kneel down and play an imaginary violin. Gilardino has played for several Italian clubs throughout his career.
