Alejandro "Alec" Mapa is an American actor, comedian and writer. He took his first professional break when he was chosen to replace B. D. Wong played Song Liling in the Broadway play of Mr. Butterfly. He has been recognized for roles such as Adam Benet in Half & Half, Suzuki St. Pierre by Ugly Betty and Vern from Desperate Housewives. Mapa reappeared as Renzo on Switched at Birth. Mapa co-hosted the Logo Transamerican Love Story online dating game with Calpernia Addams in 2008. In 2013, he made his debut in his own one-person program, Alec Mapa: Baby Daddy, turned into a concert film and premiered on Showtime in 2015
