Goalkeeper who made his international debut for the Czech Republic in 2004 after beginning his professional career with Pogon Siedlce in 1998.
Artur Boruc is a Polish professional soccer player currently playing as a goalkeeper for club Ekstraklasa Legia Warsaw. He started his career in the Polish third division with local club Pogoń Siedlce. He joined the Ekstraklasa Legia Warsaw team in 1999 and as a reserve loan he was loaned to Dolcan Ząbki in 2000. Boruc joined Legia's first team in 2002 and in 2003 became the club's top goalkeeper. . In the summer of 2005, he joined the Celtic team of the Scottish Premier League. During his five years at Glasgow, Boruc made 221 appearances for the club, three league titles, one Scottish league and two Scottish league titles. Celtic fans nicknamed Boruc the "sacred guardian" because of his pious Catholicism. He moved to Italy in 2010 to join Fiorentina, spending two years at the Serie A club before returning to England in 2012 to sign Premier League club Southampton, moving to Bournemouth in 2015 after a season reward on loan.
