Aziz Ismail Ansari is an American actor, writer, producer, director and comedian. He is known as Tom Haverford in the NBC Parks and Recreation series and is the creator and star of the Netflix series Master of None for which he won several acting and screenwriting awards, including two Emmys Awards and a Golden Globe Award is the first award received by an Asian American actor for his role on television. Ansari started acting in New York when he was a student at New York University in 2000. He then co-created and starred in the MTV comedy series Human Giant, after which he joined and starred in a number of feature films. As an independent comedian, Ansari released his first special comedy, Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening, in January 2010 on Comedy Central Records. He continued to perform on tour and on Netflix. His first book, Modern Romance: An Survey, was released in June 2015. He was included in the Time 100 Most Influential People list in 2016
