Barry Ryan Bannan is a Scottish professional footballer who plays in midfield for Sheffield Wednesday Championship and the Scottish national team. Bannan started his career at Celtic before making his 2008 debut for Aston Villa, and was loaned to Derby County, Blackpool and Leeds United in the Championship. In 2013, he signed for Crystal Palace for an undisclosed amount, and after a brief loan from Bolton Wanderers, he left for Sheffield on Wednesday. As an official international player since 2010, Bannan has made more than 20 caps for Scotland.
