Christian Benteke Liolo is a Belgian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Premier League club Crystal Palace and the Belgian national team. He started his career at Standard de Liège, playing a role in their victory in the Belgian First Division in 2008-09. After a season at Genk, he was signed by Aston Villa for £ 7 million. He scored 49 goals in 101 appearances for Villa in all competitions, including 19 in the Premier League in his first season and helped them reach the 2015 FA Cup final, before moving to Liverpool in 2015 for 32 , 5 million pounds. He spent just one season at Liverpool, scoring a total of ten, before moving to Crystal Palace at the start of the 2016-17 season. Benteke has made more than 30 caps for Belgium since making his debut in 2010. He missed the 2014 FIFA World Cup due to injury, but was part of the squad that reached the quarter-finals of UEFA Euro 2016.
