Actress well known for her role as Katrine Fnsmark in the TV series Borgen. She made her American cinematic debut as antagonist Kommissar in Pitch Perfect 2. She starred in the HBO series Vinyl in 2016.

Birgitte Hjort Sørensen is a Danish actress. She was nominated for three Robert Awards and one Bodil Award. Born in Hillerød and raised in Birkerød, Sørensen aspired to an acting career after watching the West End Chicago musical produced in school. She graduated from the Danish National School of Performing Arts. Her acting debut was a small role in the 2005 television series The Eagle. She continued this by playing Roxie Hart in a production from Copenhagen to Chicago, and later in the West End. Sørensen's decisive role was that of journalist Katrine Fønsmark in the political drama Borgen.
