Santa Maria wrote her first blog for The Huffington Post in March 2010 before entering publication as the founding science journalist and host of Talk Nerdy to Me from October 2011. to April 2013. She also co-hosts Take Part Live with Jacob Soboroff on Pivot TV. She officially participated in the online social and political commentary program The Young Turks as an irregular member in May 2013
