Cecelia Carolina Bell is an American author and illustrator born in Richmond, Virginia. She attended the College of William and Mary with a major in Art and went on to earn a Graduate Diploma in Illustration and Design from Kent State University. She became a freelance illustrator and designer for a variety of projects before starting her career as a full-time illustrator. Bell is married to child author Tom Angleberger. She has won the Newbery Medal of Honor and the Eisner Prize for her book El Deafo.
