66th US Secretary of State who was the first female African-American to hold the position as well as the second African American and second woman. She was a leader in the Bush Administration's Middle East policies as Secretary of State, advocating for the expansion of democratic governments.

Condoleezza "Condi" Rice is an American diplomat, political scientist, civil servant and professor, currently director of the Hoover Institute at Stanford University. Rice was the 66th Secretary of State for the United States from 2005 to 2009 and the 20th National Security Advisor to the United States from 2001 to 2005. As a member of the Republican Party, Rice was the first female Secretary of State. Ky and the first woman held the position of National Security Advisor. Until Barack Obama was elected president in 2008, Rice and his predecessor, Colin Powell, were the highest ranking African Americans in federal executive history. Rice was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and raised as the South was racist. She received a BA from the University of Denver and an MA in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame.
