David Lekuta Rudisha, MBS is a Kenyan middle distance runner. He is the 2012 and 2016 Olympic champion, two-time world champion and the world record holder in the 800 meters. He established his running career at St. John's High School. Francis Kimuron from Elgeyo Marakwet County. Rudisha was the first and only person to run 800m under 1:41, and he retained the fastest three, six of the fastest eight and half of the twenty fastest races in the event. He is also the best time in the world at 500 meters, with a time of 57.69 and the African record at 600 meters, with a time of 1: 13.10. Rudisha has won a record three consecutive athlete of the year awards in athletics and also won the IAAF World Athlete of the Year award in 2010.
