Dulquer Salmaan is an Indian actor, singer and film producer who mainly works in Malayalam films. He has also worked in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi speaking films. Son of actor Mammootty, Salmaan graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and worked as a business leader before pursuing a career in acting. It won four Filmfare Awards South and a Kerala State Film Award. After a three-month acting course at Barry John Acting Studio, he made his debut in the 2012 action film Second Show, in which he received the Filmfare Award for Best Male Role. He received his first Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actor for his performance at the Ustad Hotel. Following the commercial success of the American-origin comedy ABCD: Confused Desi and the horror film Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi, Salmaan appeared in the Tamil romantic comedy Vaayai Moodi Pesavum.
