Vernon Earl Monroe is a former American professional basketball player. He played for two teams, the Baltimore Bullets and the New York Knicks, during his career with the National Basketball Association. Both teams have Monroe's number. Due to her success on the pitch and flashy playstyle, Monroe has been nicknamed "Black Jesus" and "Count Pearl" by everyone. Monroe was introduced into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1990 .
