Emmanuel Jean-Michel Frédéric Macron is a French politician who has been President of France and Co-Prince of the Law of Andorra since May 14, 2017. Born in Amiens, Macron studied philosophy at the University of Paris. Nanterre before moving on to complete a master's degree. worked in public affairs at Sciences Po and graduated from the National School of Administration in 2004. He was a senior official of the Inspector General of Finance and later became an investment banker at Rothschild & Co. Macron was appointed deputy secretary general by President François Hollande soon after his election in May 2012, making Macron the one of Holland's main advisers. He was then appointed to the Cabinet as Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital in August 2014 by Prime Minister Manuel Valls. In this role, Macron advocated a number of business-friendly reforms. He resigned as minister in August 2016, launching the 2017 presidential campaign.
