Blum received an Oscar nomination for Best Picture for producing Whiplash, Get Out and BlacKkKlansman. He received the Primetime Emmy Award for Best Drama for the production of the drama The Ordinary Heart. It also won the Primetimemy Award for Best Documentary or Documentary Series for the documentary miniseries The Jinx.
