With nearly 13,662 yards rushing, he is one of the NFL's all-time greatest rushers. He spent the majority of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he got the nickname"The Bus". In his final season, he helped the Steelers win Super Bowl XL.
Jérôme Abram Bettis Sr. is a former American footballer who played for the National Football Federation for 13 seasons, primarily with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Nicknamed "Bus" because of his large size and "bruised" style, he was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the first round of the 1993 NFL Draft as the tenth overall pick. Bettis was a Rams member for three seasons before moving to the Steelers, where he spent the rest of his career. Six-time Pro Bowler and first on the All-Pro team, he is widely regarded as one of the best backward runners of all time and sits eighth on the javelin leaders list. He retired in 2006 after helping the Steelers win the Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XL against the Seattle Seahawks, the franchise's first franchise in more than two decades.
