James Chambers OM, known professionally as Jimmy Cliff, is a Jamaican ska, rocksteady, reggae and soul musician, multi-instrumentalist, singer and actor. He is the only live musician to receive the Medal of Merit, the highest honor the Jamaican government can bestow for his achievements in the arts and science. Cliff is best known to the general public with songs such as "Wonderful World, Beautiful People", "Many Rivers to Cross", "You Can Get It If You Really Want", "The Harder They Come", "Reggae Night" and "Hakuna Matata", and covers "Wild World" by Cat Stevens and "I Can See Clear Now" by Johnny Nash from Cool Runnings. He starred in the movie The Harder They Come, which helped popularize reggae around the world, and in Club Paradise. Cliff is one of five artists introduced to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010 .
