Joseph Fidler Walsh is an American guitarist, singer and rock musician. During a career spanning more than 50 years, he is a member of three successful rock groups: James Gang, Eagles and Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band. Walsh is also part of the Herbs group of New Zealand. During the 1990s, he was a member of the short-lived group The Best. Walsh has also enjoyed a lot of success as a solo artist and as a prolific version musician, featured on a variety of other artists' recordings. In 2011, Rolling Stone ranked him 54th on the list of "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time". In the mid-1960s, after studying at Kent State University, Walsh performed with several local Ohio-based bands before reaching national audiences as a member of the James Gang, who performed the popular song "Funk # 49 "highlighting his skills as a guitarist and singer. Roger Abramson, concert producer and artist director, signed a management contract with James Gang with BPI in Cleveland.
