John Phillip Stamos is an American actor, producer, musician, comedian and singer. He was first recognized for his role as Blackie Parrish on his contract in the ABC television series General Hospital, for which he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor by the Day Emmy Award in a Motion Picture. He is known for his television career, most notably in the lead role of Jesse Katsopolis on the ABC sitcom Full House. Since the show's finale in 1995, Stamos has appeared in numerous movies and TV series. Since 2005, he has been the national spokesperson for Project Cuddle. From 2005 to 2009, Stamos starred in the NBC ER medical film as Dr. Tony Gates. On October 15, 2009, he began playing the role of Albert in the Broadway play Bye Bye Birdie, which he performed until January 24, 2010. After that, he played the role of Senator Cantwell in the best performance of The Man Gore Vidal from July 10 to September 9, 2012, replacing Eric McCormack.
