He is also known for his theatrical career and roles in films such as The Ordinary Man, Running on the Empty, Independence Day, Beautiful Mind and Independence Day: Revival. He has twice won the Primetime Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Comedy, twice the Tony for Best Actor in a play, the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor Best - Musical or comedy drama and nominated for an Oscar or Supporting Actor.
