Karen Olivo is an American stage and television actress, theater educator and singer. In 2008 Olivo began her role as Vanessa in In the Heights on Broadway. The following year, they won the 2009 Tony Award for Best Musical Actress for her role as Anita in the revival of West Side Story. She is the first and only actress to win a Tony Award for her role in West Side Story. From 2016 to 2017, Olivo played Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton's Chicago movie. In 2019 Olivo started playing Satine in the stage adaptation of Moulin Rouge! on Broadway, winning a nomination for the 2020 Tony Award for Best Musical Actress.
