Malcolm Bligh Turnbull is an Australian politician who served as Australia's 29th Prime Minister from 2015 to 2018. He was twice leader of the Liberal Party, from 2008 to 2009 as head of the opposition faction and from 2015 to 2018 when he was Prime Minister. He was a member of the House of Representatives for Wentworth from 2004 to 2018. Turnbull graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws degree, before attending Brasenose College, Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, with a BA in Civil Law. For more than two decades, he worked as a journalist, lawyer, commercial banker and venture capitalist. He was chairman of the Australian Republican Party movement from 1993 to 2000 and was one of the leaders of the unsuccessful “Yes” campaign in the 1999 referendum .
