Martín Alberto Vizcarra Cornejo is a Peruvian engineer and politician who served as President of Peru from 2018 to 2020. Vizcarra was formerly Governor of the Department of Moquegua, Peru's First Vice President, Minister of Transport and Peruvian Communications and the Ambassador of Peru to Canada, with the latter three presided over by Pedro Pablo Kuczynski. The Peruvian parliament voted to dismiss Martin Vizcarra in November 2020, removing him from the presidency. In the 2016 general election, Vizcarra ran for the presidential ticket of Peru to change as the candidate for first vice president and vice presidential candidate Pedro Pablo Kuczynski. This ticket beat Keiko Fujimori's nomination for the Famous Force. Vizcarra was sworn in as president on March 23, 2018 after President Kuczynski resigned.
