British Conservative who served as the Secretary of State for Education before being promoted to Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice in the 2015 general election. He previously wrote for The New York Times as a columnist and is the author of the book Celsius 7/7.

Michael Andrew Gove is a British politician and writer, served as Prime Minister of the Principality of Lancaster since 2019 and minister in the Cabinet Office since 2020. He has been a Congressman from Surrey Heath since 2005. As a member of the Conservative Party, he served as Minister of Education from 2010 to 2014, Head of Department from 2014 to 2015, Minister of Justice from 2015 to 2016 and Minister of the Environment from 2017 to 2019. He ran for the Conservative Party twice, in 2016 and 2019, finishing third on both occasions. Born in Aberdeen, Gove was cared for until his adoption at the age of 4 months, after which he grew up in the city's Kittybrewster area. He attended Robert Gordon's Independent College and studied English at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford. He then began his career as a reporter at The Press and Journal before spending a lengthy stint as a leadership editor at The Times.
