Miguel Ernesto Herrera Aguirre is a former Mexican professional footballer and current manager, most recently Liga MX América club. He is often referred to by the nickname Piojo. A former defender, Herrera started his career playing for second tier team Deportivo Neza in 1985, joined Tecos UAG in 1987 and made his Primera División debut in 1988. After a brief stint with Santos Laguna, in 1989, Herrera moved to Atlante and went on to play for the club three times, winning his only league title as a player of the season. 1992–93. He also had a notable time with Toros Neza, having made more than 100 appearances for the club from 1995 to 1999. He retired with Atlante in 2000. Herrera is also a Mexico international, winning won 14 caps and competed in the 1993 Copa América tournament where the Mexico finalist team had completed. As manager, Herrera was responsible for Atlante in 2002 and again in 2010.
