Anthony Nomar Garciaparra is a retired American Professional Baseball League baseball player and current analyst at SportsNet LA. After playing games for nine seasons as All-Star's short runners for the Boston Red Sox, he has played in the short door position, the third batter and first for Chicago Cubs, Chicago Dodgers, Los Angeles and Oakland Athletics. He is one of 13 players in Major League history to have achieved two Grand Slams in a single match, and is the only player to achieve this feat at his home. Garciaparra is a six-time All-Star star and Rookie of the Year and the AL Slugger Silver Award Winner at the 1997 short leg. In 2001, he injured his wrist, the first time in a series of serious injuries that spanned the rest of his career. Known for his moderate fighting ability, Garciaparra is a longtime fighter.
