Philip Michael Rivers is a retired American midfielder who has played at the National Rugby League for 17 seasons, primarily with the Chargers franchise. He played college football in North Carolina and was selected fourth on the 2004 Draft NFL by the New York Giants, who handed him over to San Diego Chargers on the draft. Rivers has been a member of Chargers for 16 seasons and played the final season with the Indianapolis Colts. After spending his first two seasons as a reserve, Rivers served as Chargers's starting midfielder between 2006 and 2019. During his tenure, he was named in eight fellow Pro Bowls Time led the team to four championships and six playoffs. . Rivers also helped the franchise win its first playoff game since 1994 in the 2007 season, culminating in a trip to the AFC championship match. With Colts in 2020, he qualifies for the seventh knockout round as the starter.
