Alatini is a center-back, who appeared in 17 games for the All Blacks between 1999 and 2001, scoring six attempts. Alatini has played 81 NPC matches for four different provinces and 72 Super 12 matches for four different franchises. He has also performed professionally in Japan for Suntory Sungoliath and Kamaishi Seawaves. Alatini is married to singer and pop actress Megan Alatini. His brothers Tevita, Anthony and Sam Alatini played for the Tonga national football team.
