Though he participated in a number of other Tamil films, this Indian actor is most known for his role as Chinna Thambi in the 1991 film of the same name, for which he won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award.

Prabhu is an Indian actor, businessman, and film producer who has appeared primarily in Tamil-speaking films. He is the son of veteran actor Sivaji Ganesan, while his son Vikram Prabhu is also a Tamil actor. After the debut of the film Sangili, the actor played a series of main and supporting roles, winning the Tamil Nadu State Best Actor award for his role in Chinna Thambi. He has starred in more than 200 films with leading and supporting roles in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
