About Sarfaraz Khan
Cricket phenom who confirmed his superstar-in-the-making status by scoring more runs than any other Indian in U19 World Cup history, including more than half-centuries.
Sarfarāz Khān, whose birth name was Mīrza Asadullāh, was a Nawab from Bengal. Sarfaraz Khan's maternal grandfather, Nawab Murshid Quli Khan of Bengal, designated him as his direct heir since there was no direct heir. After Murshid Quli's death in 1727, Sarfaraz went to Masnad of Nawab. Sarfaraz's father, Shuja-ud-Din Muhammad Khan, then Orissa's Subahdar, knew him, to Murshidabad, the capital of Bengal's Nawabs with a huge army. To avoid family conflicts, Crown Prince Begum of Nawab asked Shuja-ud-Din to meet with Masnad after Sarfaraz abdicated to support her father. However, the circumstances prompted Shuja-ud-Din to appoint Sarfaraz as his heir and after Shuja-us-Din's death in 1739, Sarfaraz Khan once again ascended the Masnad throne as the Nawab of Bengal.
