Shaun Paul Cassidy is an American singer, actor, writer and producer. He has created and / or produced several television series including American Gothic, Roar, Cold Case, Cover Me, The Agency, Invasion and Emerald City. Cassidy is currently the executive producer and screenwriter of the NBC medical film New Amsterdam. When he was in high school, Cassidy signed to Warner Brothers records, which resulted in his albums being Shaun Cassidy, Born Late, Under Wraps, Room Service, and Wasp. Almost concurrently, Cassidy starred in the ABC TV series The Hardy Boys Mysteries, as well as Breaking Away and spent some time in the day soap general hospital. When he appeared on Broadway in the hit musical film Blood Brothers, he wrote his first TV script, American Gothic. In 2020, Cassidy returned to the stage with a man's show The Magic of a Midnight Sky. Cassidy is the eldest son of Oscar-winning actress Shirley Jones and award-winning actor Tony Jack Cassidy.

He is the son of Tony Award winner Jack Cassidy and Academy Award winner Shirley Jones. He married Ann Pennington in December 1979, and they had two daughters. He married Susan Diol in 1995, and Tracey Lynne Turner in 2004. His four children with Tracy are named Caleb, Roan, Lila, and Mairin. He is the half-brother of musician David Cassidy and was reared alongside two younger brothers, Patrick and Ryan.
