Sho Sakurai is a Japanese singer, songwriter, rapper, actor, host, presenter and former presenter. He is a member of the Arashi boy group. Sakurai began his career in the entertainment industry by joining Japanese creative agency Johnny & Associates in 1995 at the age of 13. About seven years after his singing debut with Arashi in 1999, he became an announcer in 2006, appearing on the News Zero news program every Monday. In 2008, he was appointed official broadcaster covering the Beijing Olympics on NTV. As an actor, singer and presenter, Sakurai became one of the recipients of the GQ Japan Man of the Year award in 2009. His father was Shun Sakurai, former deputy minister of the Ministry of Interior and Communications.
