Shonda Lynn Rhimes is an American television producer, screenwriter and writer. She is best known as the host - creator, lead writer, and executive producer - of the medical television series Grey's Anatomy, side story Private Practice, and main horror series. Rhimes was also executive producer of the ABC television series Off the Map, How to Get Away with Murder, The Catch and Station 19. In 2007, Rhimes was honored by TIME magazine as one of the 100 people who helped shape the world. In 2015, she published her first book, a thesis, The Year of Yes: How to Dance, Stand in the Sun, and Be Your Own Man. In 2017, Netflix said it signed a multi-year development agreement with Rhimes, under which all of its future products would be the Netflix Original series. Netflix acquired the rights to broadcast the previous episodes of Grey's Anatomy and Scandal.
