The Minnesota Timberwolves selected him 9th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft, and he was quickly dealt to the Utah Jazz in exchange for two first-round picks.
Alfonso Clark "Trey" Burke III is an American professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association. He was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves with a ninth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and immediately transferred to the Utah Jazz. He also played with the Washington Wizards and the New York Knicks. He played college basketball for the Michigan Wolverines, in the 2012-13 season he won the National Player of the Year award and led the 2012-13 Wolverines to Premier League basketball. Shortly after the tournament, he announced that he was eligible to participate. As a rookie in Michigan, he won the Big Ten Co-Freshman in 2011–12 and was named to the All-Big Ten second team in 2011–12. He was selected by CBSSports.com and The Associated Press as the 2012 NCAA - sometimes AP - American basketball player. He led the team in 2011-2012 for points, assists, steals and tackles.
