Zoya Akhtar is an Indian director and screenwriter. Graduated in NYU in cinema, she supported directors like Mira Nair, Tony Gerber and Dev Benegal, before becoming a full-fledged screenwriter and director. Akhtar is the recipient of several awards, including 6 Filmfare awards. She has directed films such as Luck by Chance, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Sheila Ki Jawani, a segment of Bombay Talkies. She co-wrote Talaash with Reema Kagti. She then went on to direct Dil Dhadakne Do and Gully Boy.
