He was ranked 20th in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves before winning the 2012 Polish Basketball Championship with Asseco Prokom Gdynia. After spending four seasons with the Houston Rockets from 2012 to 2016, Motiejūnas joined the New Orleans Pelicans in January 2017
