English midfielder who joined Newcastle United in 2011 and represented France at the 2010 World Cup.

Yohan Cabaye is a former French professional footballer who played in the midfield. Cabaye started his football career playing for his hometown club US Touring at the age of 6. After seven years of development within the club's youth academy, he joined the professional club of Lille. Cabaye spent six years in the club's youth academy before making his professional debut in the 2004-05 season, helping Lille win the 2004 UEFA Intertoto Cup. He became a regular player the following season and participated for the first time in the UEFA Champions League under Claude Puel. Under coach Rudi Garcia, Cabaye became an assisting midfielder and had his best season so far in 2009–10, scoring more than 15 goals since the midfielder. During the 2010-11 season, he was part of the Lille team which won the double league title and double the national cup. In June 2011, after the end of the season, Cabaye joined England club Newcastle United on a five-year contract.
